Around the second week of March, Brad's sister called to see if we wanted to come down and visit Perdido Key, Florida with them. Although it was short notice, we scrambled and were able to get a few days off and drive down. It had been a rough start to the year, so we were excited to get away for a few days. We chose to drive because plane tickets were really expensive and we would have lost a day with travel alone. The drive went pretty well. We drove straight through the night. We left Plainfield at 9:00 pm and arrived at Perdido Key at about 1:00 pm the next afternoon. The temps were a little cool, and there was a massive rainstorm that took over for the rest of the trip. We saw the sun a few hours after we arrived, and then didn't see it again until about 5 hours on our last day. We still got to do fun things and it was nice just to see palm trees and the ocean. The temps got into the lower 70's even with the rain. Perdido Key is on the panhandle, about 1 mile from the Alabama state line,right on the Gulf.
Being with Brad's sister family was really fun, and it was fun to see the kids on the beach. Our condo was gorgeous, with great views. All in all, it was a fun trip, and we would love to do it again.
